About Rood / Jenkins Family Tree
The direct Rood (Root; Roit) family line has been traced back to Mordechai ben Roit born in Germany in 1640. The English branch of this family started in December 1859 when Levie Moses and Ester Rood emigrated from Amsterdam to London's east end with their three youngest children. Some relatives went to Australia (there are Rood families in Melbourne and other cities) and others went to South Africa. Some family lines show connections to Spain and Portugal and the huguenots in 17th centuary Montauban, France and of course, London, England.

The Jenkins branch has been traced back to the 18th Century in Wales.
In tracing the Rood family line I am indebted to following people who have provided invaluable help in tracing so far back: William Noordanus (The Netherlands); Julian Rood (Australia); Thomas Rood (Chigwell, England; Susan Horncastle (Jenkins).

I hope that you enjoy looking at this facinating insight to our family. Please keep me informed of changes so we can make sure that the information is as up to date as possible.

The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
